Developing worship leaders is good, but discipling them is critical. This is what we’re about, because this is what Jesus was about. And it’s what changed the world. In 1 Corinthians 4, Paul said, “Even if you had 10,000 teachers, you do not have many fathers…”
While we’re nowhere close to having 10,000 Teachers of worship, we’re even further from having 10,000 Fathers–and Mothers–of worship. But that is what the next generation needs. Because historically, when worship goes wrong, so much goes wrong. (Think of Cain & Able, or Saul & Samuel, for instance.)
When worship goes right, so much goes right!
We are asking God to raise up an army of men and women who are gifted to lead worship, equipped to do it with theological soundness, convicted to grow in both their character and competency, and committed to doing it all for the goal of making disciples. We’re asking God to bring us the right men and women who want to be a part of this. And we’re fasting and praying, asking God to miraculously provide all that it’s going to take.
As well as being a part of the 10,000 Fathers team, Andy and Rachel host a worship school in south west Florida. If you are interesting in finding more information about the worship school at Summit Church, you can apply below.
